For Banilla Box, our goal was to produce something unique out of the product supplied by these small businesses in the shape of premium gift boxes. We include a wide variety of suppliers in our boxes that we know will supply the highest quality items for us to send to a loved one or to treat yourself - all with the Banilla touch. We have a range of products from honey to bath salts which can be purchased individually on our market place page on our website and help support our suppliers even more.
Still to this day, we always have people being curious about the origins of the name, it's simple, we combined banana with vanilla to come up with the name; it's a bit of a mishmash, but it works. Funnily enough, we were on a trip to London years ago (when we didn't have a business 24/7) and James being James had his notepad and pen noting down all these business ideas and names that were sitting in his brain needing to be put down on paper. One of the businesses was a full-blown hot dog business which we still talk about to this day (watch this space). So the gist of the story is the name Banilla was created on a train to London and has been sitting on that bit of paper for 5 years.
Our entire plan was to help small companies during the pandemic, so in summer 2020 we sat down and came up with a plan for launching Banilla. We are currently concentrating on Scottish brands at the moment, but down the line, we are looking at expanding Banilla to include other UK businesses. I really do wish there was more time in the day to do everything we want to do but slowly but surely we are developing, watch out for what is coming next in the future.
